Our Story

How we got into building decks

We build decks, we fix decks other people built wrong, and sometimes we tear one out and start over. Most of our customers grew up with a deck that was already there when they bought the house, and now it's their turn to deal with it. We got into this trade because framing work outdoors, where you can see the whole job from the yard, suits us better than being inside walls all day.

If you're on this page, chances are your deck feels spongy in one spot, the railing wiggles when you lean on it, or the boards have gone silver and rough. Soft decking almost always means water's gotten into the joists from underneath, and stain alone won't fix that. We pull boards to check the framing before we ever touch a paintbrush, because sealing over rotten wood just hides the problem for one more summer.

Why Choose Us

What you get when you hire us

None of this is complicated. It is mostly just doing what we said we would do.

Licensed & Insured

We're licensed and insured, so if something goes wrong on your property during the build, you're not the one holding the bag. Ask for certificates before we start, we'll have them ready.

Straight Written Quotes

We walk the site, measure spans, and check footing spacing before pricing anything. No verbal estimate that turns into a different invoice later.

Local Crew

The people framing your deck are the same people who come back to fix a squeak two years later. We don't hand the job off partway through.

Materials That Match the Job

Composite costs more up front but skips the yearly staining. Treated pine is cheaper and fine if you're willing to reseal it every couple of years, we'll tell you the tradeoffs straight.

We Show Up When We Say

Deck season books up fast in spring, so we give you a real start date and stick to it. If rain pushes a pour or a stain day, we call you, we don't just go quiet.

Clean Site Every Day

Deck screws left in the grass are how somebody's mower or bare foot finds them later. We sweep the site and haul scrap before we leave each day.

Common Questions

Things people ask us

Questions about who's doing the work.

How long has Oasis Deck been building decks?
Oasis Deck brings hands-on experience in deck framing, repair, and finish work to every project in the Benton area. Experience in this trade shows up most in footing depth, joist spacing, and flashing details that don't fail a few years down the road.
Does Oasis Deck use its own crew or subcontractors?
Oasis Deck uses its own crew for framing, decking, and railing work on every job rather than subcontracting the labor out. The same people who quote the job are the ones building it.
Can I see photos of past deck projects?
Most deck contractors, including Oasis Deck, can share photos of completed builds and repairs on request, either before an estimate or during the first site visit. Seeing finished railing details and board spacing in person on a past job is often more useful than photos alone.
Why choose a smaller deck builder instead of a large remodeling company?
A smaller deck-focused contractor tends to know deck-specific details, like proper ledger flashing and joist span tables, better than a general remodeler juggling kitchens, roofs, and decks at once. Direct contact with the person building the deck usually means fewer miscommunications about design changes.
Where is Oasis Deck based?
Oasis Deck is based in Benton, AR, and works throughout the surrounding central Arkansas area.
How far in advance do I need to book a deck project?
Spring and early summer are the busiest season for deck construction in central Arkansas, so booking a few weeks ahead is common during that stretch. Fall and winter openings tend to come up faster since demand drops with the temperature.
Do you clean up the yard after a deck project is finished?
Cleanup at the end of a deck project should include hauling off scrap lumber, packaging, and any old decking or footings removed during demolition. Loose deck screws and nails left in the grass are a common complaint when cleanup gets skipped, so a walk-through with a magnet sweep is worth asking about.
What if something on my property gets damaged during construction?
A licensed and insured deck contractor carries liability coverage for damage to landscaping, fencing, or siding that happens during construction. Getting insurance certificates before work starts, rather than after something happens, is the safer approach.
Will Oasis Deck finish a deck that another contractor started or abandoned?
Taking over a partially built deck is possible, but it starts with an inspection of the existing footings and framing to confirm they meet code before building on top of them. Sometimes pulling out what's there and starting the footings over costs less than trusting work that can't be verified.
How can a homeowner tell if deck work is being done correctly while it's underway?
Footings should be poured to a consistent depth and diameter with rebar or the proper anchor hardware set while the concrete is still wet, not added afterward. Joist hangers should be nailed with the specific hanger nails they're rated for, not general framing nails, and railing posts should be bolted through the rim joist, not just screwed to the decking.
